About the Author

Linda Jordon

I was born and raised in a small town called Palmer Springs, Virginia, in the early 1960s. I graduated from Park View Senior High School in South Hill VA in 1981. I attended North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University for a year; however, received my Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from NC Wesleyan College in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. I received a Master of Science degree in Organizational Change and Leadership from Pfeiffer University in Misenheimer, North Carolina while working full-time.

I have been a resident of North Carolina since 1981 and a citizen of Granville County since 1992. I became heavily involved in my community and was appointed to the Butner Advisory Board as the town wasn’t incorporated. In 2007, the Town of Butner was incorporated and I ran for office and was elected to the council and then re-appointed to serve as Mayor Pro Tem. I was the first African American female to serve in office.

I am a certified Life Coach (CPC/CLC) and a Certified Trainer, Coach and Speaker with The John Maxwell Team. My day job consists of being an entrepreneur as a real estate investor where I buy houses to remodel and resell, wholesale to other investors or remodel and rent to others. Prior to all of this, I worked in corporate America for 27 1/2 years. My background consists of expertise in organizational development and change management, finance, sales operations, human resources, communications and outsourcing experience.

With a passion and gifts to help others succeed, I have found that developing leaders and individuals is what I love doing most. I really enjoy helping others achieve their personal and professional goals. I am married to my loving husband, James, (26 years) and have a beautiful daughter, Jaimie. If I am not busy enough, I am currently pursuing my doctoral degree at Ashford University with a tentative graduation date of October 2019.
